LG Releases Teaser Trailer for the G3

Tired of leaks and rumours of LG’s upcoming flagship Android smartphone ? Well, seems like LG feels that way, too. The company has released an official teaser trailer for the G3, highlighting several intriguing features that may make an appearance on the LG G3. They’ve even got an official product page up, confirming the G3 moniker. The short clip manages to drop plenty of hints, besides the more obvious features of the upcoming G3. You’ll see plenty of brushed metal references, hinting of a possible brushed metal finish on the G3 (and easily making it more premium-looking than its biggest rival, the Samsung Galaxy S5). The device’s silhouette also shows a curved back similar to the HTC One M8; though it isn’t clear if the screen will be curved as well. Moving on to another interesting part of the teaser: the camera. Taking up a significant portion of the teaser, LG is hinting at a very interesting aspect of the G3′s camera, beyond the OIS+ image stabilization feature: infrared autofocus. A feature more common on larger cameras, infrared autofocus sensors judges distance more accurately, and works “especially well” in low-light conditions. Finally, there’s the confirmation of the official global launch of the G3, which will be happening on May 27 in three cities: London, New York and San Francisco. But there’s another bit of info hidden in the video’s description: three other cities will have their own G3 launch – Seoul, Singapore and Istanbul – and all will be held the next day, May 28. Now that glimpses of the G3 are officially out, let’s see how do they tally with the leaked images of the G3, which has made the rounds recently alongside rumoured specs that includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2 or 3GB of RAM, and a 13MP OIS+ camera. In fact, LG Display has already confirmed that the G3 will sport a 2560 x 1440 resolution 5.5-inch display.
